Our upstream operations focus on the exploration, development, and production of crude petroleum and natural gas resources. Employing advanced geological and geophysical techniques, our exploration teams identify prospective hydrocarbon accumulations, assess their commercial viability, and develop optimal extraction strategies. Our production operations utilize enhanced recovery methods including water flooding, gas injection, chemical flooding, and thermal recovery to maximize resource recovery from existing fields while maintaining reservoir integrity and operational safety.
Our natural gas operations encompass the entire value chain from wellhead to burner tip. We extract natural gas from conventional and unconventional formations, process it to pipeline specifications removing impurities and extracting valuable natural gas liquids, transport it through our extensive pipeline network, distribute it to residential, commercial, and industrial customers, and provide storage services that balance seasonal demand variations and enhance energy security. Poland's strategic location in Central Europe positions our natural gas operations at the crossroads of European energy flows.
Our petroleum refineries represent significant investments in sophisticated processing technology and environmental control systems. These facilities transform crude oil into a broad slate of products precisely tailored to market demands and stringent quality specifications. Our refining capabilities include atmospheric and vacuum distillation, catalytic cracking and reforming, hydro processing for sulfur removal and product upgrading, alkylation and isomerization for high-octane gasoline components, and blending operations that produce finished products meeting European fuel standards.
Our chemical operations produce essential petroleum-based chemicals and preparations serving diverse industrial sectors. These include petrochemical intermediates for plastics and synthetic materials, specialty chemicals for industrial applications, lubricant base oils and additives, solvents and processing chemicals, and agricultural chemicals and products. This diversification reduces our exposure to commodity price volatility, creates additional value from petroleum feedstocks, serves growing industrial demand, and contributes to Poland's industrial development and competitiveness.
As petroleum and petroleum products merchant wholesalers, we operate an extensive distribution network connecting our refineries and storage facilities with end-users throughout Poland and neighboring markets. Our distribution capabilities include bulk liquid transportation via pipeline, rail, and truck, dedicated delivery to large industrial customers, supply to retail fuel distribution networks, export logistics to international markets, and inventory management and supply chain optimization services.
Our pipeline systems form the backbone of Poland's liquid fuel and natural gas transportation infrastructure. We own, operate, and maintain extensive networks of crude oil pipelines from production areas to refineries, refined product pipelines connecting refineries to distribution terminals, natural gas transmission pipelines linking supply sources with distribution networks, and gathering systems collecting production from multiple wells.
